Each year, Fan Free Clinic provides exams and vaccinations to children preparing to start school through its "Back to School Day." This event targets uninsured and underinsured children in the Greater Richmond area to offer access to free immunizations to ensure children’s eligibility to enroll in school. Donations from the community allowed FFC to provide backpacks and school supplies to children attending the event. Parents also learned about other resources for health care such as FAMIS, a free health insurance alternative for children. Back to School Day 2007 provided 45 kids with the physicals they needed to enroll in school.
